  Fist of all they should fix the way so cars can pass and there is no sign its a beach its quiet and it looks abandone

  Not much of a beach, it was a sight for sore eyes tbh with the military base right next to it. It seemed like the military got the better part of the beach? There was a small opening that looked nice, but we weren’t sure if the water was safe so it was short lived. We didn’t spend more than 7 minutes here because it was so depressing.

  We always come here with kids, its never crowded. Sometimes there is something like silt on the bottom of the sea, but its only the first 2-3 feet as you enter the water. It must be Belize river bringing these deposits during rainy season. The water is always nice, not too high waves, very shallow for a while and warm. The beach itself is not developed, which we like actually.

  Wonderful people and culture. Bewilder Christian Foundation, Howling monkeys in the trees in the city, Street tacos and cantaloupe juice. Temple Of The Sun!

  Tourists beware! Don't go to this beach! My husband and I went here on a Monday because Old Belize was closed and we wanted to swim. It was fine for about 15 minutes until a beat up old truck arrived and parked right beside our stuff, we immediately started to swim for the shore and then 2 men came galloping up on horseback with their faces covered and also started milling around our bags. We thought they were going to take off with our stuff but luckily they didn't. My husband got out of the water and they approached him and tried to intimidate him, not so much with what they said but how they said it. We got the hell out of there asap. We thought we were safe because we were directly beside the coast guard headquarters. Don't be fooled, we could have easily been robbed or worse today. We consider ourselves very lucky for having avoided a potentially very dangerous situation.
