Branch Mouth Park is 1.64 mi (2.64 km) north from the San Ignacio Cayo Welcome Center & Tourist Information Center. Get to Branch Mouth Park by canoe, kayak, walk, bike or a taxi each way is BZD15 to 20. The paved town road turns into bumpy gravel after the highway and continues along beside a few homes and properties, then the Macal River follows tightly alongside the road all the way to the park. Ample parking, multiple hang outs all around the banks and on all corners of the Hammock bridge. No facilities at the park but cross the bridge and 100 meters up the hill is a store selling drinks and snacks. Another 100 meters along the gravel road is the main paved highway back into San Ignacio. The location features a picturesque natural landscape with towering trees and the meeting point of pristine river waters. It offers safe swimming conditions and the opportunity for individuals to jump from the bridge. Anglers are present, targeting snook and tarpon, numerous birds can be observed. This setting provides a tranquil and appealing environment, but garbage is an issue. The dry season from February to May is the preferred visiting period. The wet season from June to November with high water levels may make the park inaccessible. Be out of the park and off the gravel road by sunset due to high levels of criminal activity.

Walked there from town, but nothing there. No swing rope, no good entrance or exit from the water. It's directly deep water. Also some trash is laying around, but not more than other places, sadly. Wasn't worth the walk. Also water in BOTH rivers were quiet brownish and not really welcoming for a swim.

I came here for a swim as it is so hot out. Quiet, no one around, brown, coolish water, a bit of an abrupt entrance into the river, some trash around and mosquitoes in the shade. No facilities to speak of whatsoever.

It's a nice place to go and hangout, have a few beers and BBQ with friends and family but the only thing I didn't like about it, is the trash. If you do go here, please clean up after yourselves. Take all of your trash when you leave to keep this park clean for everyone else. It's a great river to swim and fish in but when you see foam plates floating on the river and plastic bags and bottles on the Rivers edge, it makes it hard to enjoy the beauty that Cayo has to offer.

Really neat place where the Mopan and Macal rivers meet to make the Belize River. Looks like a great place to swim.
