We had the best day out in the water with Fernee! He picked up on the idea that we truly just wanted to take it all in, so we took our time getting to the island, learning about the mangroves, the wildlife, etc. We even got so close to a family of dolphins, it was truly remarkable. He took us to a couple places to snorkel, and we saw so many different fish and coral and urchins. Lunch on the beach was BBQ chicken, beans, and coleslaw. They had a cooler full of drinks and a big jug of cold water to refill our bottles. Fernee went out of his way to share all about Belize with us, help orient us (I get lost on the water), make sure we felt safe and comfortable in the water, and finding all the things we asked about. I would highly recommend anyone looking to have a day on the water to go here. I know they also have fishing and places to stay and a restaurant but I can't speak on those yet. Can't wait to return!

Wonderful place to stay, relax and fish. Great guide staff with a genuinely kind, welcoming management team. I am looking forward to my next trip down.

This was a great experience. We booked a boat to Snake Caye and it was amazing. We had the island to ourselves and the team barbecued lunch for us. We went snorkeling and then fishing afterward. They crew was so helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend.

I traveled to Punta Gorda and specifically to Garbutt's with three friends in late March/early April. Like most people who visit, we were in search of some permit and had heard that Garbutt's was the place to find them, and they were right. Everyone in our group landed at least one permit during the four days we were there, and another guest landed an almost unheard of six fish in a single day. Garbutt's is a family run business, and they treat you like you are part of their family from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. Dennis is the resort manager and he makes sure every detail is attended to eagerly and happily. His brothers Scully and Oliver, along with their cousin Yogi and their Uncle Vic, are all expert guides who have been fishing these waters their entire lives. And Dennis' sister Betty prepares amazing dinners to go with the breakfasts and lunches that are packed onboard each boat for the day's adventures. Long story short, and as the photos attest, this is a first class fishing lodge and a world class Permit fishery that I will return to again and again.

Our group of 10 booked a trip to Lime Caye with Garbutts. It was fantastic! It was a 1.5 hour boat ride to the island where we saw pilot whales along the way. The island is perfect with beautiful clear blue waters, white sandy beaches. For $120 usd, we had a weekend of delicious meals, prime snorkeling on the barrier reef, fishing and great cabins for lodging. This is a private island for your group and is truly a once in a lifetime experience!
