Unforgettable experience! Take this tour if you want to know more about the life and behaviour of green iguanas. Bonus point : you get to touch and hold them if you are brave enough (I recommend it!!). Special thanks to the guide Brian who was happy to answer all our questions . Please note credit card payments are accepted

I really loved this experience and it's quick and easy. The tours are held at the San Ingacio Hotel every hour on the hour during the day and last about 30 minutes. I believe 4 pm is the last one. You'll get to learn about the black and green iguanas and why they need our help. You'll see a few of the larger male and females, their nesting area and some youths that will be released back into the wild. You can also hold the larger iguana and take a photo. Super fun!

We went to the beautiful conservation project on our first day in Belize and loved it. Our guide, Jorge ("George"), was absolutely fantastic and you could tell he was extremely passionate about his work. We were the only two people there so we were able to feed the iguanas (about 5 in a large enclosure that were rescued), hold them and see the babies. It was affordable, the staff in the hotel were so so lovely (the location is booked through the lobby/front desk area). We have recommended this to all the new visitors for a fun, interactive experience with the iguanas.

We visited the Green Iguana Conservation Project while visiting San Ignacio! We did not know what to expect but it was cool to learn about the Green Iguana and its history in Belize and even got to hold a couple of them! We even saw a Toucan in the wild in the trees outside the habitat when weβre leaving the facility! It is worth an hour of your time if you are interested.

This is a small conservation and education project. They also raise scholarship money for local students. Our guide Brian was very knowledgeable, and his stories about the iguanas were fun. The hands-on (heads-on) was also a lot of fun. No iguanas were harmed or stolen! :) Give them a visit.
