📍 23 1st Ave, Corozal, Belize

Where to begin? Should I start with the dead cockroaches on the floor? The lack of sheets on the bed? The ridiculously noisy karaoke until 1am? The fact I was overcharged? I didn’t realise my bed had no sheets (except for an undersheet) until 11pm - by that point the hotel was empty and I had no choice but to put the bath towel over myself and have a go at sleeping. Fat chance of that happening with the blaringly loud karaoke outside my window. With the dead cockroach on the floor next to my bed for company I tried to get some sleep - unsurprisingly unsuccessfully as joining the cockroach and I was about 25,000 mosquitoes. At least some of us were having a good night. I would probably have been able to look past all this (I don’t complain about hotels or restaurants often - my other bad reviews are almost always corrupt border officials not independent hotels) but the fact I was charged 70usd per night for this experience was beyond a joke. booking.com was 50usd but I decided to do the right thing and not use a 3rd party platform. My decision to walk in cost me an extra 20USD?? Why is this nobody will ever know. 70usd to stay in Corozal of all places would perhaps be a bargain if this was the Ritz. I paid less to stay at in a Marriott in Chetumal the night after. Overall, if this was the last hotel on planet earth I think I would rather stay on the street.

I don’t know how this hotel operates because I made two reservations, I got my confirmation . I taught everything was set and ready, but unfortunately when we got there they told us that they didn’t have any rooms for us, how can they over booked rooms and don’t post it on their website saying no availability. They told us that they were going get rooms for us with someone else that have hotels . I just can’t understand why they will inconvenience people like that.

Stayed here for a night - was fine for what we needed. Rooms were ok, not fabulous though the shower was hot and the bed comfortable. The staff were what made it stand out, really friendly and helpful.

Clean room friendly staff. Great view from balcony, we had room near back. Quiet. No coffee or fridge in room, but everyone seemed yo be great about community fridge. Unfortunately didn't find any breakfast places open within walking distance but dinner restaurant was walking distance.

I stayed here April 13 - 16. Beautiful, clean, comfortable hotel overlooking the bay. Close to restaurants and stores. The staff is most pleasant, and honest. I paid cash upon arrival. The next day they told me the booking company had paid with my CC and refunded the cash. I had no receipt. The downside is it can get noisy. I was warned, but chose room 6 with a door to the balcony. The windows are screened and covered with open metal slats, but no glass. There is a dog next door that barks at all hours. Also, a nearby bar has karaoke 2 nights a week. Lovely place, lovely people, great location and great price.
