📍 GR43+VVW, Belize City, Belize

I had a very positive experience with the hospital services. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, and attentive. The reception process was smooth and efficient, and I didn’t have to wait long before being seen. The medical team was highly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made me feel comfortable and reassured. The nurses were especially kind and responsive, always checking in and making sure I was well taken care of. The facilities were clean, well-organized. Overall, the level of care and attention I received exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking for reliable and compassionate healthcare services.

The nurses were unbelievably rude and had absolutely no compassion or empathy. I don’t even know how to put into words how terrible it was, The way they treat the patients there is just appalling and completely unacceptable. They seriously need to overhaul their staff training because it’s clear many of these nurses and doctors hate their jobs. If they hate being in healthcare so much, then why the hell did they even choose to become doctors or nurses in the first place? Witnessed it myself and there was an instance where a group of nurses were laughing at a patient because of how the person looked and they started blurting out jokes about the patient in Spanish thinking i did not understand them but I did.

This hospital is sufficient. I am here with a broken femur. I live in Corozal Town Belize and went down on my cycle. I have been here for a week. I did have to arrange blood donors and source some of the hardware(I am 6'6" they don't just keep that size stuff on hand) for my surgery. Yes a FAN!! That has been the most miserable, no fan for the first couple of days. The food is not bad at all, but you will probably lose weight due to small portions.(Broken leg \bedpan, not eating anyway) Water is more important than the fan(1.5 liters a day) followed by toilet paper. The staff is the same as the hospital staff in the states (I worked in imaging for a trauma hospital for 10 years) some people have said they are rude, but they are human beings and are not going to tolerate too much of the demanding impatient loudmouths. We had a saying at the hospital I worked at "We are here to save your ass not kiss it", so just be patient. The hospital works with limited resources so feel free to make a donation.

My brother was hospitalized at KHMH for a week with stage 4 cancer. Dr Ramoncito Yacab was the oncologist overseeing his care. I must say that I was highly impressed with his knowledge and genuine care for my brother. From the moment my brother was admitted to the hospital, he was well taken care of by a committed dedicated medical staff. He went in with a lot of pain and the nursing staff managed to keep his pain under control and kept him comfortable. Dr Yacab was amazing! He made sure all the necessary tests were done. He initiated the chemo treatment and tried everything possible to help my brother. Even though cancer won the battle; I know that my brother was in the best hands, among people who knew how to take care of him and keep him comfortable. I was coordinating my brother’s care from overseas and I had the opportunity to talk to a couple of the nurses. Special thank you to nurse Kayla and Nurse Bernard for being patient and understanding and for explaining things to me. Another special Thank you to Dr Martha Habet who also assisted in my brothers care. All of you guys make an amazing team and I will forever be grateful and thankful for the care my brother received. Keep up the good work.

Nurses and Doctors great working with equipment they have available to them. Take a pillow, a fan, an extension cable, your cell/tablet (with charger), headphones and/or something to do in the long boring hours. Beds are a mix of old donated mechanical hospital beds, many don't work are are set in the position you get them. Have someone to bring you in food and water, the meals will be good for you if you are on a starvation diet.,go into the place with a positive attitude, they are trying to help/cure/fix you
