📍 1 Parrot Nest Lane, San Ignacio, Belize

Loved this place. It was really affordable and the couple running the spot were amazing. They also made really great food if you want to join them for a group dinner for a small additional charge. If you are there for a while, they allowed us to use their laundry for a small charge as well. Only thing to consider is not every room has it's own restroom, and be prepared for lots of bugs since it is pretty much in the jungle and you can hear howler monkeys which sound like a T-Rex roaring. It was really cool. Would 100% stay there again. We would have stayed longer in San Ignacio if there had been availability to stay here. We instead moved into town and realized that the town wasn't really our vibe so we left early.

We enjoyed this place quite a bit. You do get your own cabin, bur it is pretty bare bones, just fans for the heat, luckily it was the coldest week in history when we were there, so 50 at night and 70 during the day was spendid for the jungle. Our cabin had an ensuite, bare bones again, but functional. The cabin all centered around a common area where food is served and games are played and hours of conversation happens. The whole place is covered in a huge green canopy, the grounds (jungle) is beautifully maintained. If you opt for meals, some were awesome and some were just okay. She did make this chicken vegetable soup one night that was literally the best thing we ate in San Ignacio. This lodge is about 3 miles out of town and if you take the collectivo, its cheap to get to town $3BZD, if you take a taxi, it is $20BZD. The owners are a tad extreme on the environmentalism, not necessarily a bad thing, but if you start a conversation, you may get more than you bargained for. Howler monkeys and Toucans in the trees above, lots of smaller birds (bring your Merlin app). Tubes available for rafting. We would definitely stay here again.

We had the most amazing stay at Parrot Nest Lodge! Rooms are basic yet neat, but what makes it so special is the spirit of this beautiful place: Theo is nothing but wonderful, taking care of everything & everyone. Food is great, her advice for the area is super helpful. The common area is a great place to meet guests from all over the world and you will find everything you need from books to games there. Our kids aged 3&5 loved it there as much as we did - best location to explore the jungle!

A wonderful place to stay with amazing hosts. Nestled in a jungle setting aside the river but only 10 minutes to downtown. Theo and Marcus are wonderful and can help you with tons of local knowledge. The addition of howler monkeys has made a magical place even more special. Grab a tube and float the river. Enjoy your meals on site. Bask in the rustic feel of the site Highly recommend

What a fun place to stay! Right at a bend of the Mopan River in Bullet Tree Falls (not far from San Ignacio) - This place feels right out of The Swiss Family Robinson movie. The hosts couldn't be more friendly. There is a large communal area with chairs and hammocks makes it a great place to sit and relax after a day of exploring Belize. You cannot get lonely as their friendly dogs will keep you company. There are drinks to grab anytime you want (just mark it on your sheet and pay when you checkout using the honor system). They offer dinner each night which was very delicious (small fee but worth it). Breakfast is included in the cost and was also very tasty. The best part is that they have free tubes for floating down the river - just grab a tube, walk down the road until you find the trail leading down to the river. The river is clean so just go with the current, past some small rapids and get out when you arrive back at the hotel. Our cabana and beds were clean and comfortable set within the jungle. Our only complaint is that we couldn't have stayed longer.
