  While reminiscing about our trip to Belize back in January 2024, my spouse and I shared our fondness of River Bend Lodge and its hosts. We wondered how they'd grown over the past five months and took a peek at their website, which is a new addition since we booked mid-2023. Initially, we were the first to book the property (though not the first to stay) while it was available through AirBNB. We're so grateful we took the chance on a new property, and to see that they continue to offer affordable rates despite their evolution as a resort. The River Bend is fresh, stunningly beautiful and comforting, even while we visited amidst its transformation. The owners are humble, accommodating, and dedicated. The River Bend Lodge is a resort built and operated with love and vision. In the short time since we've visited, it seems they've made lovely additions to their offerings, yet remain a shimmering hidden gem tucked away in the Belizean jungle. Libations available at the Butterfly Bistro were delicious as is the ambiance. Staying in the River House was a luxurious dream. Our only regret was not booking a massage! Location is secluded, yet accessible. San Ignacio is a short drive away as is Xunantunich archeological site and we highly recommend visiting both. However, if you're interested in remaining on site, there is plenty to enjoy at River Bend considering the amenities, wildlife and natural splendor! Photos, though beautiful, truly do not do this place justice; and the amenities, kindness, and comforts provided cannot be explained in a way that accurately illustrates the wonderful experience that is River Bend Lodge Cayo. Book and see for yourself! We sure hope to have the opportunity to visit again and would love to live vicariously through reading incoming reviews in the meantime!
