Tourist Attraction
📍 W25F+GPC, San Pedro, Belize

My husband and I came ro Belize for our honeymoon. We have visited Hopkins, Cayo, Placencia and now we are in San Pedro. I have to start saying that Belizian people are very kind and friendly, we are grateful for that. The country has a lot natural beauty. The jungle was a beautiful good experience. On the other hand, the country is very primitive with very poor infrastructure, very narrow and creepy dirt streets without sidewalks in most places, except for the "Highways". The worst of all, this country is so expensive even though if you try to stay local. We experienced both, luxury and local lifestyle. The is not quality life in here unless you can shipped everything you will consume in every single aspect. I will attach images of places and groceries with prices for verification of my comment. This is not a place for people used to comfortably and civilization.

Terrible experience, it was a trip of horrors. It's an extremely expensive and very poor island. The streets are creepy, the people are very rude. I've never felt so discriminated against for being Mexican. They charge you for everything, even the air you breathe. Secret Beach is supposed to be public, and they tell you that you can bring your own drinks. Obviously, we ate food, and they still charged us about 800 Mexican pesos as a corkage fee, and nobody said anything to us. We asked, and they said it was allowed... The only thing worthwhile is the tour where you see the nurse sharks and the reef. We were supposed to stay for 5 days, but it ended up being 2. Everything is awful. The sea is always full of sargassum, and since they don't clean it, it always smells terrible. If you're thinking of going, I don't recommend it. There are better places. And if you're not from Quintana Roo, they charge you to leave the island. 😅😅

A complete disaster. To swim, you have to drive 40 minutes west to the Caribbean Sea, because the Atlantic is full of sargassum (seaweed) in April—and the locals said it's been there since January. The stench is incredible, and you can forget about swimming.

Visited San Pedro, Belize as part of an island hopping tour from Belize City. I enjoyed walking around and exploring the town. “San Pedro is in the south part of Ambergris Caye, in northern Belize. Its sandy streets are lined with wooden houses, seafood restaurants and beach bars. Hol Chan Marine Reserve is a channel in an offshore reef. It features dive sites with parrotfish and moray eels, plus nurse sharks and stingrays at Shark Ray Alley. To the north, Bacalar Chico National Park protects wildlife and the Chac Balam Mayan ruins.”
