📍 Unnamed Road, 4XH2+FQJ, Cristo Rey, Belize

These falls are also listed separately on Google Maps as “Monkey Falls” but they are the same. This is a local spot that folks from the area enjoy and it definitely has the vibe of “if you know, you know”. As such, there are no signs and no facilities other than a garbage bin at the top of the falls. It’s about a 20 minute walk from Carms Restaurant and I followed the map with ease. As I got closer, I was able to find it by following the sound of the water and the sounds of kids messing around. It’s a lovely little spot, within range of cell service, and very shaded. If you go by car, take a 4x4 or a motorcycle because the road gets a bit treacherous the closer you get to the falls. I felt perfectly safe walking, and when I got there, I was entertained by a group of young boys doing flips into the water. Be sure to take your snacks but also take your trash with you when you leave—we’ve gotta keep Belize clean!

This place didn't actually exist as far as we can tell. We drove through the town. Didn't find any signs. Took a couple of wrong turns that Google maps since it signed. It looked like private residences. It was all very confusing and I recommend going somewhere else.

Great tucked away swim hole which we walked to from nearby Crystal Paradise Resort (10/10 stay btw). We had the place to ourselves and it was refreshing and clean!

Visit today 19th November 2025. I came back 20 years later. Bringing my childish to experience my childhood bathing spot. Water nice.

We went in the afternoon and it was great to cool down. Nice little waterfall and totally free. Take the public bus from San Ignacio to San Antonio and walk from the beginning of the street to the waterfalls. Easy to see on Maps.me
